With the legislative session set to begin in a few days, air quality will once again be a concern for Utah’s state senators and representatives. Whether it has the same political urgency as it has in past years may depend on just how polluted the air gets – and the view from Capitol Hill.

Utah Foundation’s Dan Bammes talks with two members of Utah’s Legislature, Democratic Representative Patrice Arent and Republican Representative Steve Eliason, about the status of the air quality issue and plans for the upcoming general session.

Topics for Utah Thrives: The Utah Foundation Podcast grow out of the ongoing public policy research done by Utah Foundation.

Our report on air quality The Air We Breathe: A Broad Analysis of Utah’s Air Quality and Public Policy Solutions was published in 2014. It was followed by a blog post on the Tier 3 gasoline question in February, 2015.
